We are excited to announce we are now looking to hire a Professional Services Portfolio Manager into our thriving Group Professional Services (GPS) organisation within Computacenter.
Working as the Professional Services Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, and ongoing evolution of Computacenter’s professional Workplace services portfolio.


The role leads cross-functional collaboration in development of the portfolio through an extended virtual team of Solution Managers, Leaders, Chief Technologists, Technology Consultants, Group Development Strategy Managers & Marketing Managers and Sales Specialists ensuring that the portfolio development remains aligned with the vision of the Solution Area leadership and the strategic goals of both Computacenter and Group Professional Services.

What you’ll do

  • Define and develop the professional services Workplace portfolio in conjunction with key stakeholders to reflect the growth agenda of GPS
  • Conduct and support assessment and analysis of market trends, economic indicators and industry knowledge that may inform development priorities
  • Build, maintain and direct relationships with relevant technology vendors and partners to ensure that we understand development trends, influences and direction to adapt and evolve the GPS portfolio to position for market opportunities and maximise the value derived from our development funding
  • Maximise access to, and usage of, investment funding available from technology vendors and partners
  • Collaborate in a virtual product development team of Solution Managers, Technology Consultants, Group Development Strategy Managers & Marketing Managers and Sales Specialists to evolve, prioritise, implement and communicate the portfolio
  • Participate in Group Development portfolio governance
  • Support the preparation of development proposals for approval by the Solution Area Director
  • Support identification of development funding requirements and securing investment via the GPS Portfolio Investment process.
  • Support preparation of Group Finance Central Investment cases, where required
  • Represent GPS in the articulation, promotion, education and understanding of the GPS Workplace portfolio across internal stakeholders
  • Act as the primary point of contact for sales and service enquiries regarding the portfolio capabilities and reference-ability
  • Maintain understanding of the portfolio and development plans for GPS operational leadership to ensure that resourcing capacity, method and capability remains aligned to the needs of the portfolio and that developments remain aligned to optimised delivery models and delivery practices
  • Work with GPS Partner Management to ensure that the partner eco-system remains aligned with the capacity and capability requirements of the evolving portfolio and the optimal delivery needs of GPS Operations
  • Participate in Group Development forums to influence across Group Technology Sourcing & Group Managed Service peers to achieve a common Computacenter goal and vision
  • Take accountability for the delivery of approved portfolio developments
  • Perform project-level reviews to ensure that developments are progressing against agreed plans and budgets, opportunities are identified for improvement (and applied) and development risks are managed
  • Track and report the performance of the portfolio to support the further development, investment or retirement of products or capabilities
  • Ensure that development projects maximise the use of R&D tax credits and provide necessary supporting to Group Finance for claims to be submitted
  • Ensure that the portfolio is accurately portrayed within the GPS Portfolio library and that published artefacts and content adhere to GPS standards
  • Support status and reporting updates to the Group Portfolio Board and GPS LT (as required)
  • Verify that the right tools are implemented and made available across the group that allow for a maximum level of automation when delivering the defined service products/offerings.
  • Drive a common methodology for capacity and development planning to maintain the developed PS pipeline
  • Ensure Solution Centres utilisation is optimised for training and customer consulting engagements across the group

What you’ll need

  • Broad knowledge of technologies and solutions relevant to the workplace market, including workplace technologies that support hybrid and digital working environments
  • Previous leadership experience of virtual teams/delivery, ideally with exposure to workplace technology transformation projects
  • Experience of managing across cultures, with sensitivity to varied digital workplace adoption and practices
  • Ability to build effective and constructive relationships up to and including Senior Management level within any organisation
  • Experience of managing P&L/budgets
  • Appreciation of investment strategies, including those relating to digital workplace initiatives
  • Effective stakeholder and communication management skills, particularly in the context of driving adoption of workplace technologies
  • Ability to analyse key performance indicators and produce relevant reporting and MI, including metrics related to workplace technology performance and user engagement
