Life on the team

We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused GTS Inventory Planner to join our Inventory Planning team.

This role plays an important part in managing customer inventory, reducing aged and excess stock, and helping protect working capital. You’ll be responsible for reviewing demand, analysing stock positions, identifying risks early, and working with internal teams to make sure inventory decisions are commercially sound.

The right person will be confident working independently, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable using data to make clear recommendations. This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, taking ownership, and working with stakeholders across sales, finance, operations and supply chain.

What you’ll do

  • Managing inventory positions with a clear focus on reducing risk, aged stock and excess inventory
  • Reviewing forecasts, customer requirements and stock levels to support the right supply decisions
  • Analysing inventory data to identify trends, risks and areas that need action
  • Producing and reviewing inventory reports to support decision-making
  • Challenging demand where needed to avoid unnecessary stock build
  • Supporting actions to protect working capital while maintaining customer service levels
  • Monitoring product transitions, end-of-life activity and changes in customer demand
  • Escalating risks clearly and following through on agreed actions
  • Working closely with account teams, sales, finance, operations and other internal stakeholders
  • Supporting improvements in reporting, process and inventory governance

What you'll need

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership and does not need to be closely managed day to day. You’ll need to be proactive, confident with data, and able to follow things through properly.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience in inventory planning, supply chain, demand planning or a similar role
  • A good understanding of inventory risk, aged stock and working capital impact
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Good Excel skills, including working with large data sets
  • The ability to identify risks and recommend practical actions
  • Confidence to challenge demand or stock decisions where required
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • A commercially aware approach to inventory decisions
  • Desirable experience
  • It would also be helpful if you have experience in any of the following:
  • Working in IT, technology distribution, reseller or electronics environments
  • Managing high-SKU or fast-moving product portfolios
  • Working with short product lifecycles or end-of-life stock
  • Using Power BI or other reporting tools
  • Working with customer-specific stock or contractual inventory requirements
  • Understanding vendor programmes, lead times or supply chain constraints

What success looks like

Success in this role will be measured by how effectively you help reduce inventory risk and support better working capital management.

This includes:

  • Reducing aged and excess stock exposure
  • Proactively seeking and making process improvements
  • Identifying risks early and driving clear actions
  • Improving the accuracy and quality of inventory reporting
  • Supporting better demand and stock decisions
  • Working independently and managing priorities effectively
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Helping the business balance customer service, cost and inventory risk

About you

You’ll be someone who enjoys working with data but also understands that the value comes from turning that data into action. You’ll be comfortable asking questions, challenging where needed, and making sure risks are visible before they become bigger issues.

This role would suit someone who is organised, proactive and confident working with different teams to get things moving.
