About the role

The Senior Accountant, Revenue & Inventory is responsible for ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and analysis of revenue, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory within the Technology Sourcing business area. This role includes ownership and application of revenue recognition principles in accordance with IFRS 15, ensuring revenue is recorded accurately based on contract terms and performance obligations.

This position plays a critical role in monthly close execution, financial reporting, audit support, and continuous process improvement. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, particularly in revenue recognition and contract accounting, a high degree of analytical rigor, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Operations, Sales, and other cross-functional teams.

This individual must be a strategic thinker with strong leadership and interpersonal skills. This position requires a detail-oriented, solutions-focused problem solver who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving business needs. They must possess the ability to independently assess complex accounting scenarios and proactively identify and resolve issues.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure accurate and compliant revenue and cost recognition in accordance with company policy, US GAAP, and applicable accounting standards; IFRS familiarity a plus
  • Serve as the primary accounting owner for assigned customer projects, overseeing revenue, cost tracking, and overall project profitability.
  • Analyze project margins and financial performance, investigating variances and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive timely resolution.
  • Prepare and review accruals, deferrals, and complex journal entries, ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Perform and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analyses, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Conduct quantitative, trend, and variance analyses to identify risks, anomalies, and opportunities, supporting informed business decision-making.
  • Oversee inventory-related accounting activities, including cycle counts and year-end physical inventory, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and reconciled.
  • Prepare and deliver standard and ad hoc reporting on revenue, margins, and inventory to management and corporate stakeholders.
  • Support internal and external audits by coordinating deliverables, responding to inquiries, and articulating accounting positions and conclusions.
  • Ensure all accounting documentation and reconciliations meet internal control standards and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, IT) to resolve complex accounting issues and improve financial visibility.
  • Support and influence system implementations, enhancements, and process changes, particularly those impacting revenue and inventory accounting.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting policies, procedures, and scalable process improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen controls, increase efficiency, and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Provide guidance, oversight, and informal mentorship to staff accountants, reviewing work and supporting development as needed.

What you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required), CPA a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with direct responsibility for revenue and inventory accounting, or comparable experience in public accounting (Audit) or a blended public/industry background.
  • Experience supporting audits and operating within a strong internal control environment.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Strong understanding of revenue and cost recognition under IFRS
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manage large, complex data sets.
  • Experience with ERP and financial systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and project solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion and personal judgment.
  • Good knowledge and experience of SAP, MS Office and MS Teams
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strategic thinking and tactical execution skills
  • Good knowledge of the IT industry and an understanding of IT technologies and products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating with colleagues in different countries where English is not the first spoken language
