About the role
As a Computacenter Lead Consultant, you will assist in providing transformative technology solutions for the most visionary companies in the world. Along with designing and implementing single and multi-vendor technology solutions, you will have the opportunity to work within an industry-leading sales and technical sales team to understand our clients’ needs and craft sustainable roadmaps to achieve their goals. This role has a data center focus.

What you'll be doing

  • Partners with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives consistent with Winning Together values.
  • To meet business and customer requirements, perform a complex range of technical work activities either remotely or at the customer's site.
  • Coordinate small teams delivering basic work packages in line with company processes to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership in a specific area of expertise.
  • Acts as a role model for colleagues, providing guidance around technical and behavioral competencies to ensure the sharing of internal best practice
  • Document and report on work completed to ensure compliance with Company and Customer Procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of technical procedures and standards to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Escalate issues in line with company processes to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Evaluate escalations and resolve appropriately to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers to ensure consistent experience.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to dynamic team environments to maintain consistent effective contribution.
  • Must be semi-strong physically. The servers are extremely heavy and cumbersome. We do have server lifts at the data centers to install them in the higher racks, but for lower locations, the team typically has three people when mass-mounting servers, one on each side and one who guides the units into the rails. Additionally, when unboxing hundreds of heavy servers, the person does need to be strong and have good stamina.
  • The candidate must understand that the team is very dynamic in terms of communication between team members, which happens over texts, emails, and cell phones.
  • Provide design, deployment, and implementation services for single- or multi-vendor solutions.
  • Be regarded as a thought leader by recommending new technologies, best practices and tools that support the growth of the business.
  • Ability to troubleshoot multi-vendor issues.

What you have

  • 7+ years of professional experience in large enterprise data center environments
  • CompTIA hardware certifications is a plus
  • Dell Tech certifications (PowerEdge) is a plus
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Experience with Dell Servers is needed
  • Understanding of Dell iDRAC and how to use it
  • Previous data center experience and love working with core hardware.
  • Solid hardware troubleshooting skills
    • Error code reading and troubleshooting cable issues, connection issues, and failed components.
    • Experience tearing down a complete server to bare motherboard and completely re-installing and reconnecting.
    • Experience with CoolIT liquid-cooled manifolds is a plus
  • Willingness to be extremely flexible with work hours and travel.
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the usual and customary methods of performing the job functions, including: a variety of standing, sitting, and walking throughout the day; lifting of up to 80 pounds.
