As a Service Consultant you contribute to service design, provide input in tenders or other presales processes, and advise customers based upon your expertise. You can lead or be a part of an onboarding process as part of the implementation of a new customer with the relevant service design. You also contribute to the cost optimalisation of a design or onboarding process.

As a Service Consultant, you are advisory and supportive in optimizing operational processes so that they are in line with the service delivered to customers. Keeping up with market developments and group perspectives is essential for this. To perform the role well, you work mainly on your internal network, acting as the link between sales and operations. However, it is also important to know what our partners can do so that you can advise on the best solution for the customer. An important aspect of the Service Consultant is that his or her hours must be billable, either internally or to external clients. Each Service Consultant has his or her own expertise, with one focusing more on logistics services, for example, and another more on reporting.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with (internal) clients to understand their business needs and provide a service solution that meets their requirement and our business objectives.

  • Detailed analysis of customer requirements, e.g., based on a RfQ, RfI or RfP tender document.

  • Development and coordination of an efficient and innovative service design or implementation plan based on an overall end to end solution according to customer requirements.

  • Combining the customer's needs with the group's existing capabilities

  • Construct and implement Service Improvement Proposals for existing customers.

  • Advising on solutions with (3rd party solution) partners if necessary

  • Having an excellent understanding of the costs of the services to be delivered

  • Preparing project plans, including identifying and analyzing risks

  • Monitoring progress on your parts and set the right level of expectations with your (internal) clients in meeting agreed targets and deliverables.

  • Seeks opportunities to develop own skills and knowledge to progress within the service consultant area and your field of expertise


Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional training

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a specific discipline in the delivery of IT (Managed) Services

  • Knowledge of and proven experience with project and Service management methodologies

  • Knowledge and experience with Business process modelling, including ability to implement these processes according to the design/model made

  • Ability to integrate standard portfolio solutions into a customer specific Service Design

  • Ability to present plans to clients in a relevant format

  • Customer orientation paired with good analytical and conceptual skills and an innovative mindset

  • Enjoy working collaboratively on new ideas and proactively seeking collaborationswhere needed

  • High degree of self-reliance, commitment, and ability to work under pressure

  • Fluency in English and Dutch (written and oral)
