Life on the team
As a Network & Security Solutions Architect, you will be an integral part of the Solutions Team, inside of the Computacenter sales organisation. You will oversee the architecture, technical engineering, and guide implementation of networking solutions throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring that our customers receive robust and scalable solutions tailored to their needs.
Your primary responsibility is to provide technical leadership, guiding critical decisions on the most vital components of the solutions we develop. From the initial proposal phase through to successful delivery, you will play a key role in shaping the direction and success of each project. Your expertise will be instrumental in aligning technical strategies with business objectives, ensuring that Computacenter remains a trusted partner for our customers' IT infrastructure needs.
What you'll do
- Provide deep technical subject matter expertise, stay current on technical solutions and engage with our key Vendors (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, …)
- Provide technical marketing, thought leadership and related support
- Delivering both internal and external updates to our portfolio
- Assist in defining and delivering the Go to Market (GTM) strategy
- Engage in key accounts, develop credibility and help build out technical solutions
- Stay current on technical solutions and engaging with vendors.
- Create in-depth technical design documentation and corresponding documents: technical presentation and Bill of Materials.
- Attend Customer opportunity / strategy meetings to understand and articulate business and technical strategy for the company and customer
- Provide design qualifications or opportunities and produce technical architecture/design documentation
- Act as Design Authority for nominated key accounts
- Work as technical designer on enterprise scale, mission-critical customer projects
- Work with peers to advise and recommend on future technology and services
- Maintain high level of industry awareness through training and self-development
- Engage in, and manage Customer demonstrations and Proofs of Concept
- Development of service offerings
- Embrace and support Computacenter’s mission and core values
The Solution Architect is also involved in the pre-sales phases of our opportunities:
- Analyze customer requirements and develop a fitting solution based on our proactive vendor portfolio
- Participate in customer meetings to qualify and quantify potential opportunities and customer needs
- Create the supporting technical collateral for our sales opportunities
- Identify cross- and upsell opportunities
- Provide input to the Solutions Sales teams to optimize customer budgets while keeping an eye on overall deal profitability (aim for win-win situations)
The Solution Architect is also involved in the post-sales tracks, by demonstrating the following responsibilities:
- Being the glue between our sales teams and the technical delivery teams
- Leading the handover process from the sales organization to the PS operations and PMO organization
- Keeping technical ownership of our solution delivery and implementation, ensuring agreements are being met on the technical level
- Providing a technical escalation point for our customers and consultants alike
- Conducting quality assurance throughout the solution implementation up until project sign-off and handover to the customer operational teams
What you'll need
For a solution to work effectively, scale, and meet the set requirements, it needs to have a well-thought-out architecture that accounts for numerous technical and business nuances. The long-term success of any project relies on the input from a Solution Architect, therefore you will need:
- At least 7 years of extensive experience with expert level technical knowledge in the network and/or security domain
- The ability to identify and develop differentiated solutions involving multiple technologies and vendors
- As a Solution Architect in the Networking area, you have expertise in some of the following areas:
- Datacenter networking
- Campus networking
- Network Firewalls
- Network Access Control
- Software Defined WAN
- Network Load Balancing
- Automation Solutions
- Additionally/ideally, you have a good understanding of surrounding technologies in the wider IT space. (compute and storage, unified communications, applications, back end systems, …)
- Strong commercial acumen – able to protect and maximize Computacenter’s business outcome
- Good writing competency with demonstrable ability to provide valuable input into technical and commercial documents
- Good customer relationship skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present to both technical and commercial audiences
- Business analysis and project management skills
- Fluency in French or Dutch, and English is required
