The successful candidate will join a thriving Practice delivering high-value transformation services to help our customers change the world. Group Professional Services is a dynamic part of Computacenter that integrates our Engineering, Consultancy, and Project Management practices, alongside our expanding Business Solutions portfolio and nearshore/offshore centres. What you’ll do
As a Programme Manager in Computacenter’s Projects and Programmes Practice, you will be responsible for providing Programme Management consultative and delivery services.
You will shape strategy, design and delivery to ensure your Programme meets specific strategic objectives as part of the customer’s wider Portfolio of Change.
You will provide thought leadership to stakeholders, both internal and external, to maximise customer Return on Investment against the agreed assignment objectives and business case.
In support of this, you are expected to understand and articulate to customers both what Computacenter sells and delivers and have a good working knowledge of the technologies/solutions.
You are also likely to be responsible for shaping, building and leading the team supporting you in your assignment. You may also be actively involved in account planning, new opportunity identification, client presentations, negotiation and winning additional business.
Your engagements could be stand-alone or delivered within a Portfolio or Programme Management Office (PMO).
You will lead your assignment, being responsible for the business outcome and its overall success.
Your assignment scope can include:
- Leading the delivery of large and complex change initiatives (formal Programmes and/or large/complex assignments)
- Programme Management consultative services e.g. development of business requirements, fixing challenged projects/programmes & maturity assessments
- Development of propositions
- Supporting the development of proposals within pre-sales
You are a leader, guiding, motivating and directing the customer’s team and/or your team to achieve the agreed objectives. You are passionate about success and make a positive difference in the outcome of your assignment.
You are an effective communicator, building and managing your team including developing strong relationships with customers and third parties.
Delivery of a successful programme will include:
- Developing and influencing customer and CC strategy
- Building a high performing and motivated programme team
- Optimising the running of the programme (including stakeholder management, risk, issue and change management)
- Optimising programme financial performance, including maintaining accurate forecasts
- Driving continuous improvement and innovation
- Building strong relationships across the customer and Computacenter ecosystem
Your overall responsibility is to meet the commitments made to customers and internal stakeholders to successfully deliver the assignment you are leading as defined in your terms of reference.
In support of this, you’re expected to understand and articulate to customers both what Computacenter sells and delivers and have a good working knowledge of technology, solutions and business transformation.
Key responsibilities:
Programme Management: Defining, designing and executing technology enabled Transformation Programmes
Governance and Assurance: Ensure that projects/programmes align with the customer requirements, deliver value and are completed efficiently within scope, time, and budget constraints, either directly or through the assigned Project Practice assurer.
Business Growth: Work with the customer and account team to identify and pursue new project and programme opportunities
Contract Management: Develop a detailed understanding of the customer contract. Ensure programme delivery is undertaken in line with the customer contract and individual proposals developed in Presales
Financial Management: Driving the successful delivery of the programme to the agreed financial baseline to meet (or exceed) the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Relationship Management: Establish and manage (senior) stakeholder relationships across Computacenter, its suppliers, and the customer ecosystem
People (Matrix) Management: Collaborate with Practice Leads to shape and lead the programme team. Creating and creating an inclusive and rewarding environment, supporting people’s development and progression
Continuous Improvement: Embed continuous improvement principles in the delivery of the Programme
What you’ll need
- A strategic mindset, strong leadership, and a proven ability to lead large and complex cross-functional assignments
- Familiarity with current technologies and the ability to articulate the key benefits in line with Computacenter’s propositions
- A demonstrable track record of delivering complex, high-risk assignments and multiple successful programmes
- Ideally trained in project and programme management methodology, for example, MSP, P3M3, Prince2, Agile
- A good understanding of business strategy including the ability to use strategy tools and techniques such as SWOT, PESTLE etc.
- The experience to leverage your knowledge of the customer and industry best practices to provide thought leadership, establishing long-term relationships built on trust and customer value
- An advanced level of commercial acumen
- Demonstrable leadership skills and personal gravitas at the CIO level
- A proven track record in assurance, governance, and business management
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships
- Ability to consciously cultivate a strong professional Personal Brand and reputation.
- Able to apply a variety of influencing skills to enable the required outcomes for your stakeholders and to enable positive assignment outcomes
- Ability to apply a variety of approaches including emotional intelligence with flexibility, to adapt personal style and approach to meet specific customer needs and to resolve conflicts
- Understand and be able to articulate the wider context of the assignment you are leading
- Ability to articulate the value of project, programme and portfolio management to internal and external customers
