About the role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager 2 (PM2) with a strong track record of self-driving, end-to-end delivery of large-scale, complex technology projects. The role requires ownership of projects from initiation through to closure, managing internal service providers, third-party suppliers, and senior business stakeholders.
The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive experience across major-scale software implementations, enterprise application upgrades, security initiatives, infrastructure transformations, and cloud-based solutions, operating in both Waterfall and Agile delivery environments.

What you’ll be doing

The PM2 will lead and deliver concurrent, high-value programs including:

  • Enterprise-wide software and platform implementations
  • Major application upgrade and modernization programs (on-premise to cloud, legacy to SaaS, version upgrades)
  • Security, infrastructure, and hybrid IT transformation initiatives

This role demands strong governance, commercial awareness, technical credibility, and executive-level communication skills.

Specifically requiring the ability to:

  • Work with requestors and senior stakeholders to define and shape large-scale project scope, objectives, success criteria, and outcomes; producing robust business cases, delivery plans,
    budgets, and resource models.
  • Lead software implementation and upgrade programs, including vendor-led and multi-supplier environments, ensuring alignment with business strategy and enterprise architecture.
  • Manage full project lifecycle delivery, including requirements definition, design, build, test, deployment, data migration, cutover, and post-implementation support.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational capability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously at different stages of delivery.
  • Provide clear, concise, and confident communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting and governance, including steering committees, RAID management, financial tracking, and benefits realization.
  • Drive internal world-wide teams and external suppliers to maintain momentum, resolve dependencies, and deliver against agreed milestones.
  • Lead information security-related initiatives, with a proven track record of delivering security controls, compliance, and risk remediation projects.
  • Deliver infrastructure and platform projects across server infrastructure, VMware, networking, cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and end-user computing, including integration with enterprise
    applications.
  • Apply Project Management best practices using Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid methodologies, defining workstreams, sprints, release plans, and tracking delivery progress.
  • Operate effectively in a remote and hybrid working environment, managing geographically dispersed teams.
  • Be based from our Atlanta office, with flexibility to support stakeholder engagement as required.

What you have

  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale software implementations and application upgrade programs, including ERP, CRM, line-of-business systems, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Familiarity with modern technologies and the ability to articulate their business benefits in line with Computacenter’s propositions.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering complex, high-risk, multi-million-pound assignments with multiple successful outcomes.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including supplier management, contract governance, and financial control.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build, maintain, and influence relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to apply a variety of influencing and leadership techniques to achieve positive stakeholder outcomes.
  • High emotional intelligence, with the flexibility to adapt communication and leadership style to different audiences and to resolve conflict effectively.
  • Strong understanding of the wider business, technical, and strategic context of programs, with the ability to report confidently at C-level and executive forums.
  • Ability to clearly articulate the value of project management and programme governance to both internal and external customers.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience at PM2 level demonstrating the above skills.

Bonus points

  • Formal Project Management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2
  • Strong knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • ITIL certification preferred
