About the role
The major purpose of this job function is to manage stages within infrastructure and other IT projects for Computacenter’s customers or for Computacenter itself, using the full range of accepted best practice techniques and Computacenter’s approved methodology to deliver products required for a stage within a project. The project manager 1 controls all resources used within the stage and is responsible to the project manager for delivery in accordance with the project plan.

This role has working hours from 1pm to 10pm ET.

Salary range: $120k to $130k

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage the full stage lifecycle
  • Develop stage plans, risk analysis and other Tempo (Computacenter's lifecycle Methodology) documents within the stage
  • Manage the stage resource in the delivery of stage products
  • Manage customer staff as part of a mixed project team
  • Achieve pre-defined critical success factors for the stage
  • Manage the stage budget
  • Generate timely cross charge information with appropriate supporting documentation for the project manager
  • Develop professional communications with the project manager and with the customer
  • Monitor and report the progress of the stage to the project manager
  • Effectively use Computacenter and external resource to pre-empt or resolve any issues in completing the stage
  • Ensure that adequate plans are in place to cover sickness, holiday, training or other resource absences during the stage
  • Ensure that Quality Assurance activities take place in accordance with Projects Practice standards and the project plan
  • Effectively manage change control within the stage
  • Manage configuration of stage documentation and products
  • Ensure timely reporting to project stakeholders including the Project Manager


What you have

  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience managing projects around IMAC.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Project Management within the IT industry.
  • Support the project manager in the commercial control of large scale, multiple stage projects
  • Maintain a suitable level of quality at a cost predefined by the customer and project manager
  • Negotiate required scope changes and associated costs with the customer during a stage with the authority of the project manager
  • Provide customer focus by representing Computacenter on site when the project manager or account manager is not available
  • Proficient with project management techniques and tools.
  • Direct work experience in project management capacity.
  • Excellent customer interfacing skills.
  • Robust communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong knowledge of technical concepts, terms and practices used in the assessment and implementation of IT Infrastructure and Services.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
