Comprehensive 16-month learning experience

You’ll receive the perfect mix of theory and practice through on-the-job, hands-on experience in various rotations in key business areas, mentoring, and formal training. As you move off the programme, you can expect a successful long-term career as you step into an Account Manager or Sales Specialist role.

Work towards IT Technical
Sales qualification

Throughout your Professional IT Sales Graduate & Associate programme, you'll work towards a Level-3 IT Technical Sales qualification consisting of 80% on-the-job learning. You'll cover the fundamentals of selling, developing your professional brand, mastering account management practices, and more.

We offer two entry pathways onto our 2025 Professional IT Sales Graduate & Associate programme, depending on whether you’re a recent graduate or you’re an individual with 2-3 years’ experience in a sales or related environment (in which case a degree is not a requirement).

The programme

Our Professional IT Sales Graduate & Associate programme is built entirely around you. While the structure of the programme may vary slightly from one year to the next, here is an outline of what you can typically expect:

As well as equipping you with all the technical product knowledge that you’ll need to get started, throughout the programme you’ll also receive training on various soft skills topics such as presenting, storytelling techniques, and communicating with impact. You’ll also receive regular feedback on your progress throughout your entire journey into the world of sales at Computacenter.

This overview provides a glimpse into the comprehensive training that you’ll receive. While the programme is intense, you’ll find the whole experience both rewarding and beneficial. Plus, you’ll be supported every step of the way. You won’t just learn about us; you’ll also learn about yourself too!

Throughout the process, you will have the opportunity to receive targeted feedback, coaching, and guidance to enhance your career growth. You will have access to various webinars and learning materials, customised to your needs.

Here are the key dates that you need to know: Our selection process takes place during November 2024 to March 2025. Face-to-face interviews take place during weeks commencing Monday, 3 February and Monday, 10 February 2025, with the assessment centre taking place Monday, 3 March to Wednesday, 5 March 2025.

Stage 1- Online Application

Complete our online application form, send us your CV, and answer a few of our questions. After you submit your application, we will typically conduct initial screening within 6 days. If we like the sound of what you have to offer, we will invite you to complete an online behavioural assessment. Good luck!”

Stage 2 - Sales Competency Test

We’ll invite you to complete an online Sales Competency Test which assesses your potential and behaviours as a potential member of the Computacenter sales team.

Stage 3 - Video Interview

Once you’ve successfully completed our Sales Competency Test, you’ll receive a link to our video interview platform. This will enable you to record a video of yourself, lasting approximately 2 minutes, answering between 1-3 questions. After the submission of your video, we’ll assess your answers and let you know if you’re through to the next stage.  

1 HOUR

Stage 4 - Face-to-face Interview

Held at our Blackfriars, London office, you’ll have the opportunity to meet one of our senior sales leaders together with a member of our Professional IT Sales Associate alumni, who at one time has stood exactly in your shoes!  While the interview is mainly competency-based, we’ll also invite you to tell us about your motivation, previous sales experience or determination to work in a sales environment. It’s also a great chance for you to get to know us better and for us to get to know you. You’ll be informed whether you’ve progressed through to the next stage as soon as is practicably possible following your interview.

2- DAYS

Stage 5 - Assessment Centre

You’re nearly there! Lasting two days, including an overnight stay, our assessment centre held in our UK and Group Headquarters in Hatfield, Hertfordshire typically involves an interview, a sales-based scenario and presentations to our members of our senior sales team. We’ll let you know within one week whether you’ve been successful and are ready to embark on your new sales career at Computacenter!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the academic requirements for the programme?

We’d love to hear from you if you possess a degree of any classification in any subject, unless otherwise stated in the job description.

Can I apply for a job if I don’t meet the academic requirements?

If you don’t hold a degree, that’s not a problem! We welcome applications from non-graduates for our Sales Development Programme provided that you’ve 2-3 years’ relevant experience in a sales or similar environment.

What is the application deadline?

For our 2025 intake, you should submit you application by 31 December 2024.

How long does the selection process take?

We welcome applications from mid-September 2024 until the application window closes on 31 December 2024. However, our selection process will continue until the end of March 2025. After you apply, we’ll ask you to complete a number of different assessments during this period. If you’re successful at each step, we’ll invite you to attend a final assessment centre which are typically held in February and March.

We aim to process your application and assessments as quickly as possible, and we’ll regularly update you on your progress.

What happens at an assessment centre?

You can expect an overnight stay at a hotel local to our UK and Group Headquarters based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, where you’ll have the chance the meet our senior sales leaders and the other candidates.

The following day, you’ll be asked to complete a variety of tasks that will allow you to showcase your skills and highlight your potential. These typically include an interview, a presentation and a selling-based scenario.

What is the dress code for the assessment centre?

The dress code is smart business wear.

What support is available during the recruitment and selection process?

If you have a disability, health condition, or you’re neurodiverse, please let us know as we’d like you to feel at your best and are keen support you in the best way we can. Just let us know when you apply and contact our recruitment team who will discuss your support needs with you and identify any reasonable adjustments that you may require.

Will I receive feedback on my application?

We’ll keep you updated on the progress of your application, and we’ll inform you at each stage of the selection process as to whether you're through to the next stage. However, due to the volume of applications we receive for these highly popular programmes, we can only provide you with detailed written feedback if you’re unsuccessful after the assessment centre stage.

Is there a set time of year when trainees start?

If you’ve successfully completed the assessment centre, you can look forward to starting your exciting new career in the world of technology sales in early September 2025.

Will I have an induction before I start?

Absolutely. We know that starting the next stage of your career at a new company can be daunting. Therefore, we’ve put everything in place to help you settle in and to enable you to start making an impact as quickly as possible. You can expect to receive an in-depth introduction into Computacenter alongside other successful applicants for our Early Careers programmes. It’s a great opportunity to network and make new friends with your peers!

Where will I be based?

You will be based at our Blackfriars office in London or our UK and Group Headquarters in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
